A yellow New Year's day for me with butter and lemon curd to be made and the rising of a yellow 'wolf moon' at 4pm. Let us hope it is a good omen for the year to have all of these golden yellows blessing the first day.

Nicolas Stevenson  created this series of illustrations for the 'Comms Bureau' 7inch Sleeves.

I have shared them today as they struck me as a series of images about metamorphosis.
With the New Year and all the promises that people make to themselves about change, I thought these were an interesting, funny warning  . . . watch what you change into!

A complex illustration by Pablo Luebert called; 'The Lady and the Fish' which for e beautifully illustrated the interconnection between us and our environment. Many of Pablo's illustrations are complex graphic puzzles like these, showing the humans not as isolated beings but integrated into the landscape.

'The Two Giants' by Michael Foreman was first published in 1967 and is another example of Michael's early experimental work, this time using collage and watercolour.
It is a gentle fable about friendship and quarrels, how they affect us and the world around us. It was republished in 2015 by Walker books and is available in paperback and hardback.
